I saw a catchy slogan out of Europe yesterday...Hands (wash them!), Face (wear a mask), Space (give people 6' space).

BALLOT ISSUES can be baffling! Here’s some tips:

C-46 and C-47 conform the Montana constitution to a court-approved METHOD OF PUTTING A CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT ON THE BALLOT. There is no opposition to these.

CI-118 amends the Montana constitution to ALLOW either the legislature or a citizen initiative to ESTABLISH THE LEGAL AGE OF 21 to purchase, consume, or possess MARIJUANA. See companion I-190 below.

LR-130 would RESTRICT LOCAL GOVERNMENTS FROM REGULATING CONCEALED WEAPONS. Proponents argue that this would prevent a patchwork of laws around the state. Opponents include the Montana League of Cities and Towns, local sheriffs and law enforcement, veterans, and school boards who want the ability to govern locally.

I-190 would LEGALIZE the possession and use, purchasing, ingesting, inhaling or transporting 1 ounce or less, and not more than 8 concentrated grams, of MARIJUANA for persons over age 21, with a 20% tax on non-medical marijuana raising a touted $48 million. Restrictions include where and when. The Montana Department of Revenue would oversee.

KATHLEEN'S COMING! Tomorrow, Thursday, 4 p.m., Lions Park in Red Lodge. Let's all go out to greet her! Bring family, friends, anyone who might be "undecided"! KATHLEEN WILLIAMS, our Democrat candidate for Montana's House seat in Washington, has a solid background to meet our legislative needs: improving our health care system, supporting our rural economy, and protecting our public lands. Come meet her in person as she reaches out to us rural Montanans. We matter to her!! ... See MoreSee Less
